Our best bit of advice is to check out the galleries.
If you love our photo style, then choose us. If you don't, choose someone else. Don't pick based on price or how friendly (or not) the photographer is on a call or how quick you're responded to - all things to take into consideration - but when all is said and done, it's the photos that will remain with you for ever. So love the style!
We are absolutely passionate about providing photos that capture the visceral feeling of the moment.
If the majority of the photos don't jump off the page and draw you into the energy of the moment, or of the day, then either you're not looking at a Just About Weddings gallery, or we've failed! We tend not to pose people, preferring candid, as they happen, moments. The pictures come alive and no one has to stare at a camera straining to make that fake smile. We want the real smiles; the laughs; the dancing; the joking; the joy; the romance; the energy. That's our passion!
Nope - we spend our time, when we're not shooting, coming up with crazy ideas to create cutting edge wedding photos, and once we've practiced them and mastered them, so it doesn't take any time to set up, we then bring the props along, and if the couple are up for it, we'll get a few out and have a play! So you might find yourself kissing in fog, running around with coloured smoke grenades, holding mirrors, or even playing with fire! The whole point of these ideas, though, is to create that absolute centrepiece ‘living room wall' picture - one that everyone who comes round, just can't stop looking at!
Well that's entirely your call.
There are some things, though, that a photo simply can't reproduce. Making your vows, the speeches, hearing your parent's or grandparent's voice for all time, the flow of the dress, the intimacy of the first dance - the list is endless. There are many people who we hear regret not having their day captured in film, even when they love their photos.
The first thing we'd say is to get your photography and videography from one provider.
If you get separate, they are forever trying to get the best angles, the best shots, the best positions, which means they inevitably get in each other's way. Not great! You're often told not to worry ‘we work together a lot'. Yes, but not every day like you get with a photography and videography team from one business. The second thing we'd say is watch a few highlights films. Our experience is that there are a huge amount of ‘vanilla' films - perfectly ok, but so samey. Go for someone that produces films that ‘live and breathe' when you watch them. Ultimately, if you're going to spend a chunk of your budget on a filmmaker, then make sure it's a filmmaker who produces films you love the feel of.
Absolutely not!
Derek The Drone comes with us as standard, and as long as the weather is ok and the venue are happy, then we love to get him up.
Perfection!
