A real JAW wedding · Huntsham Court, Devon
Three days.
One house.
The full JAW takeover.
Josie & Andrew · 24–26 July 2026
The four words
Festive.
Warm.
Communal.
Party.
Not a mood board. Not a colour palette. Four words describing exactly how the weekend had to feel.
Josie and Andrew wanted a dry-hire country house with lovely gardens, room for fifty guests to stay and no more than four hours between it and London. From Friday until Sunday. In the UK.
In France? A doddle. Châteaux everywhere. In Britain? Far fewer places come close. Huntsham Court did—and gave them one beautiful house to fill with their favourite people for the whole weekend.
Andrew was living in North America, so even getting both halves of the couple onto the same planning call was a small feat of logistics. Luckily, they were an absolute dream from day one.
The search
Beautiful house.
Middle of nowhere.
Finding the venue was one job. Building a brilliant supplier team around it was the next.
Devon gave us scenery, space and exactly the right country-house feeling. It did not give us a huge local supplier pool. So we did what we always do: researched properly, spoke to people and gave Josie and Andrew a carefully curated shortlist for every part of the wedding.
They met suppliers, weighed everything up and then made one very sensible decision: make life dramatically easier and let JAW handle almost all of it.
What they booked
Nearly.
Everything.
The cake came from elsewhere. Andrew's sister led the ceremony—with a fair bit of guidance from Nick. The rest was JAW.

Friday · Everyone moves in
Ant lit the BBQ.
The weekend was on.
Guests arrived, found their rooms and spilled into the gardens. Then the food landed.
Ant, our head chef, fired up the BBQ and laid everything out for one generous, help-yourself welcome dinner. We cooked far more portions than had been ordered and paid for. They finished every mouthful—and still wanted more.
As the first meal of a fully catered weekend, there was nowhere to hide. Good job they loved it.
Saturday morning
Pastries. Proper breakfast.
Absolutely no oily hotel eggs.
With the whole JAW team staying locally, everyone could start early. The chefs served fresh pastries, a cooked breakfast and juices while hair, make-up, floristry, photo, film and planning quietly took over the house.
The bouquets went upstairs. Meadows lined the outdoor aisle. Flowers dressed the pergola. Andrew and the boys took over the bar—and our senior barman produced a cocktail topped with a smoke bubble purely because a groom photograph should sometimes be gloriously unnecessary.

The less glamorous bit
A beautiful venue.
Some very late surprises.
Unexpected costs and requirements appeared towards the end of planning—the precise opposite of the clarity we believe couples deserve.
The budget had already been worked hard, with Josie and Andrew making sensible choices to keep the weekend where it needed to be. Late charges, additional personnel and rules that hadn't felt obvious at booking created stress nobody needed. We kept the plan moving, challenged what could be challenged and stopped venue admin becoming the story of their wedding.
That is what the planners are for.
The ceremony
A perfect entrance.
A very personal ceremony.
A quiet moment for Dad.
Nick and Alex lined up the bridal procession, seated the guests and made sure Andrew's sister had everything she needed to lead the ceremony. They'd already spent time with her on the writing, delivery and logistics, so when Josie crossed the lawn and walked down the aisle, it all felt effortless.
Josie had lost her dad during the planning. The closest family shared a private memorial moment for him—touching, important and handled with enough care that it honoured him without casting a shadow over the whole celebration.

After the ceremony
Photos done quickly.
Flowers moved quietly.
Drinks served immediately.
Formal photographs were handled at pace so Josie and Andrew could spend their reception actually having a reception. The floristry and planning teams repurposed the ceremony flowers in the dining room while canapés and drinks kept everyone extremely content outside.

Before the doors opened
The room reveal that made Nick cry.
Josie and Andrew saw the finished dining room before anyone else. Then they thanked Nick, Alex and the wider team with such warmth that Nick promptly lost the battle with his own emotions.
Not particularly slick. Entirely genuine.
Dinner
Greek feast.
Dry ice.
All the oohs.
Platters arrived at the tables as clouds of dry ice rolled across them. It was generous, social and theatrical—their four words translated into dinner. Service stayed smooth, timings stayed sharp and nobody had to leave the table to chase anything.

Saturday night
DJ Josh.
Full floor.
No easing into it.
The speeches landed, dinner disappeared and Josh took over. From the first dance until the last, the floor stayed exactly how a wedding dance floor should be: packed, sweaty and showing absolutely no interest in an early night.
The bar team kept pace all day, cleared well into the early hours and finally went to bed knowing breakfast was only a few hours away. Glamorous, this industry.
Sunday · Breakfast and the big clear-down
Sore heads. Full plates. An 11am escape.
The chefs came back with the breakfast everyone needed. Then the whole operation switched from hospitality to controlled evacuation.
With a strict venue deadline, food, drink, floristry, photo, film and planning all pitched in. Vans were loaded, rooms were cleared and the JAW convoy rolled out of Devon—heading straight towards Hertfordshire for an unusual Monday wedding.
Buzzing. Proud. Ready to do the whole thing again. Sort of.
What JAW actually did
One team.
Every moving part.
One couple. One joined-up team. Three days with almost nothing falling between the gaps.
A difficult UK brief, a carefully managed budget and supplier choices without pressure.
Friday arrivals and BBQ, the full wedding day, Sunday breakfast and one extremely brisk clear-down.
Two breakfasts, the welcome BBQ, canapés, wedding breakfast and evening food.
All-day wedding bar, guest management, announcements and the people who kept the atmosphere moving.
Personal flowers, ceremony flowers, room transformation and a calm, beautifully run wedding morning.
The whole story captured, from preparations to the packed dance floor, with DJ Josh supplying the soundtrack.
Josie · The bride
“They exceeded every expectation.”
The dream team who made it all happen.
In Josie's words
“They truly can make even your wildest wedding ideas a reality.”
“From the outset, they were patient, thoughtful and incredibly generous with their time. They presented us with a range of options to help bring our ideas to life and were always available to answer questions or jump on a call, no matter how busy wedding season became.”
“Whatever your vision or budget, they will work tirelessly to find the right solution for you.”
“We also hired Nick and Alex as our on-the-day coordinators, which was absolutely invaluable. They ensured everything ran smoothly, handled every last-minute hiccup with complete calm and professionalism, and allowed us to relax and enjoy every moment. So many of our guests commented on how kind, gracious and capable they were.”
“Nick and Alex played an enormous part in giving us the wedding of our dreams. We could not recommend them more highly.”
