The four words

House.
Party.
Games.
Unique.

Not a colour palette. Not a mood board. Four words describing exactly how the whole weekend had to feel.

Robyn and Ellen were plainly crazy about one another. Soul mates, without question. They also had absolutely no interest in a vanilla, over-formal wedding.

They wanted their closest people under one roof from Friday until Sunday. They wanted games, laughter and a proper party. And because everyone was going to travel wherever the wedding happened, geography was not going to boss the brief around.

The right answer

The venue search was the key to everything.

Get the house wrong and the budget would never recover. Get it right and the entire weekend became possible.

This one was right.

Friday · Everyone moves in

A self-run BBQ.
The house party begins.

Robyn and Ellen handled the Friday evening themselves. Food, drinks and their favourite people arriving in Cornwall.

We were not there. Given what happened from 8.30 the following morning, we can make a fairly educated guess that it was not a quiet one.

Saturday morning · 8.30am

Already dancing.
Of course they were.

When we arrived, the girls were dancing on the tables. To this day, we have never walked into a wedding morning with the energy already cranked that high.

Our hair and make-up team tried to keep everyone focused. The rest of us laughed with them, worked around the chaos and quietly kept the actual wedding moving towards its start time.

The ceremony

A ridiculous walk through the woods.
A perfect entrance together.

The brides and their wedding party crossed the garden, disappeared around through the woods and lined up for the ceremony. The walk was less solemn procession and more travelling comedy show.

Once the wedding party had reached the end of the aisle, Robyn and Ellen entered hand in hand. Exactly right for them.

Planned properly

Best.
Confetti.
Ever.

Handheld cannons were placed at the right rows. The right guests were briefed. One exact moment to fire. It looked gloriously spontaneous because the planning was invisible.

The reception

Beer pong.
Vapes.
Absolutely no lull.

Drinks, canapés and a huge buzz. The formal photographs were handled quickly. Then the chaos resumed.

The brides and their wedding party carried on exactly as they had started at 8.30am: high energy, extremely funny and showing no interest in behaving for the camera.

The wedding party

One proper photograph.
Then back to this.

Trainers, pink bow ties, heart-shaped glasses and precisely the right amount of nonsense. Getting married was a big moment. Nobody had said it needed to be taken too seriously.

The couple shoot

Beautiful bluebells.
Two brides.
Several uninvited assistants.

We took Robyn and Ellen away for their first couple photographs. The wedding party came too. Naturally, the elegant portrait session lasted approximately three seconds before the madness started again.

It made brilliant photographs because it was completely, unmistakably them.

The entrance to dinner

Music up.
Napkins waving.
Shots halfway down.

Nick had the room on its feet, whooping and cheering before the first name was called. Each entrance stopped at the shot table on the grand staircase. Then the brides and their people hit the room to pumping music.

The speeches

Laughing.
Crying.
Then laughing again.

The wedding party delivered one combined speech—and it was genuinely excellent.

It had the room helpless with laughter, then properly emotional, which takes some doing after a day conducted mostly at full volume.

The locked bottle

Eighty guests.
Eighty keys.
One winner.

Every guest found a key at their place setting. Nick invited them up to try the padlock on a bottle waiting by the staircase. One key opened it. One very particular winner took the prize.

Saturday night

Northern pie.
One first dance.
Then DJ. Sax. Percussion.

The cake was not a cake. Robyn's northern heritage arrived in the form of a stacked tower of pies. They cut it together, took their first dance to a track played by the DJ and then the full DJ Live set-up took over.

DJ. Live percussion. Sax. A packed room. Full-on party.

Sunday · Eventually

A late start.
A slow drift home.

Nobody was rushing. Nobody had booked a formal farewell. People surfaced, gathered themselves and gradually left Cornwall.

After a weekend like that, a quiet ending was probably sensible.

What JAW actually did

Found the house.
Built the weekend.
Kept it moving.

One venue search protected the budget. One joined-up team turned the rest into a wedding that never lost momentum.

01Planning and venue search

The difficult brief, the tight budget, the Cornwall curveball and every decision needed to make the weekend work.

02Wedding-day coordination and MC

Morning preparations, ceremony logistics, confetti, entrances, speeches, games and the atmosphere in between.

03Photography and film

From the dancing at 8.30am to the first dance—and every chaotic, confetti-filled moment between them.

04Floristry

Bright, joyful flowers for the staircase, ceremony, bouquets and the rest of Scorrier House.

05Hair and make up

A full wedding morning delivered beautifully despite the bridal party's firm commitment to dancing.

06DJ Live

DJ, sax and live percussion for the full-on party the four words had promised from the start.

Robyn & Ellen
